BERGAMO AND THE PARK OF THE HILLS
The Park of the Hills is very close to Bergamo and it is a unique ecosystem. This park includes a valley called Astino whose water spring makes this area extremely fertile, rich in vineyards, linen cultivations and gardens. The Monastery is the heart of the valley
Here visitors can get a knowledge of its plants thanks to an alluring botanic garden located just next to the Monastery of Val d’Astino which was founded by the order of Vallombrosa in 1107. In the former monks’ dining hall the visitor can admire the artwork by Alessandro Allori “The last supper”.
A beautiful walk through a green area will lead the group to Bergamo where it will be guided through the Museum Accademia Carrara rich in artworks dating from the Renaissance to the 19th century and the beautiful churches showing masterpieces by Lorenzo Lotto.
