THE CYCLING ROUTE FROM CASTELLANZA TO CASTIGLIONE OLONA

This 20-km cycling route along the river Olona starts from Castellanza and ends in Castiglione Olona, a Renaissance village founded by the Cardinal Branda Castiglione. His dream was that of creating a cultural and artistic center, a kind of Pienza in Lombardy. This is the reason why he called the painter Masolino da Panicale to decorate the church of Santo Stefano and Lorenzo where the visitors can recognize the mountainous landscape along the river Olona.
